Etienne Gabriel Valk is a PhD researcher at the Institute for Information Law (IViR), University of Amsterdam. His main research focuses on copyright, fundamental rights and generative AI in the context of research exceptions under EU law. Relatedly, in his research on deepfake regulation, he applies a broad lens including contract law, platform regulation, privacy, and other fundamental rights. He is also a sci-fi and music editor at the DigiCon law & tech blog.
